Ultrastudio 4K red screen of death

PostThu Jan 27, 2022 2:29 pm

I'm getting the red screen of death with my Ultrastudio 4k. I'm running OSX Monterey 12.1, Premiere 2022 22.1.2, and Blackmagic Desktop 12.2. My settings match my Premiere timeline and I get the red screen of death when I start my machine, and then I get Unsupport Signal once Premiere is actually opened and engaging the Ultrastudio. My Premiere timeline is 3840x2160 29.97 and my Blackmagic reflects this. Suggestions? Thank you.

I would start with an HD signal...does that work.

If so, I would question your HDMI cable.

If you can't do HD out, then it could be the card, or the cable.

(I'm assuming that monitor can do 4k as well.)

Yeah, I’ve tried every resolution I could, and still nothing. I am gonna try the HDMI cable and test that. A weird thing that does happen is if I place iPhone 4K footage in my 4K timeline, it will playback like it’s attempting to break through the red sheen on my monitor, which is a 4K monitor. The iPhone footage has lots of artifacts and issues when it plays as well. We’re shooting Varicam 4K mxf and those do not play back at all. It’s very strange. I’m hoping the cable swap will shed some light on the issue.
