Problem with setup on 32bit system

PostMon Oct 08, 2012 11:05 am

I have some problem with setting up DeckLink driver on 32bit system. My OS is Ubuntu 12.04.1 Desktop 32bit. I have one DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+ card plugged in. I am trying to install DesktopVideo 9.4.3 drvier by issuing 'dpkg -i ...deb' command. I install all dependencies and driver seems to be loaded successfuly. It is reported in lsmod command output, but blackmagic device files are not listed in /dev directory. kern.log file contains such lines:

*** bool DeckLinkDriverClass::firmwareHasDownloaded()[1571]: Failed to initialise video output support
blackmagic: ERROR: failed to download firmware
blackmagic_driver 0000:01:00.0 PCI INT A disabled

A few minutes after driver load kernel goes into panic and there is nothing what I can do. Card is fully operable under 64bit system (Ubuntu as well) - its fireware is updated.

One more notice: I am using 64bit machine with 32bit OS installed on it. I need 32bit system due to my application specification.

Ok, I solved my problem - just increased vmalloc memory size to 512M. Anyway, thanks for comments ;)
