Resolve Serial?

When u buy resolve with the bmcc does it have its own serial number or does it share the cameras serial number? Asking cause i sold resolve from my b-cam.

The USB dongle is the licence. There is no serial number.

There actually is a dongle serial number on the rear of the DVD case that the dongle comes in. And if you ever had an issue with the dongle, you would need that serial number from the DVD case to get support for the dongle.

Dwaine not if your dongle came with your camera. There is no DVD box.

The dongle is in a cardboard package that contains the manual and DVD but there is no serial number on that package.

The serial number is on the dongle, it's engraved on the metal part of the usb dongle. It's small and hard to see.

Thanks for that information. Not having had a chance to open a sealed camera package, I did not realize that. Bad assumption on my part.

No problem Dwaine. I know the admins have not used every derivative of every product so won't have seen every package.

Your help on getting the product running and using it is really what counts.

In light of Adam's point, could I get support for a dongle I purchase on eBay that doesn't come with a serial number?

I believe there is a serial number laser etched into the metal part of the dongle. It's rather faint. I did not get a chance to check it yesterday so I might be wrong.

There is a # on the dongle, metal section. It's very faint.
