I’d love a braw player for iPad. It’s super convenient plugging in the usd c drive to check prores files on set, but I shoot braw 90% of the time…

Talk to Apple. Blackmagic have publicly posted the free BRAW SDK. It's up to them not BM

Windows is developed by Microsoft yet it wasn’t Bill who wrote the Braw player for win os but Blackmagic. Apple doesn’t give squat about braw player, it is BMD who tries to make braw happen.

The free SDK doesn't help if it's not available for the platform. I suppose chances are greater once all components are fully ported to Apple Silicon (I don't know if they are now - Resolve isn't there yet for example), but then only M1 iPads or later would work.

You can already run most apps from the iPad on the M1 Mac. It looks like it may also come soon the other way round, let's see what WWDC will bring.

The now annual WWDC question: Will this be the year that Apple ports Final Cut Pro to the iPad? :)

It may be just a question of development priorities. Blackmagic's RAW Player can be run now on a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro, which no doubt works for some people. Maybe there'll be an iPadOS version in the not too distant future.
