DecklinkDuo2 No 59.94P

PostFri Jul 29, 2022 5:45 am

My DL Duo 2 won't take 59.94P signals, from either Cameras or a laptop with a NVidia GPU. When it gets a 59.94 signal it either doesn't register as a signal coming in at all. I've confirmed both in my NVidia settings and with my test monitor which shows scan rates that it is indeed getting 59.94P signal. Works fine at 59.94i.

The DL Duo2 board is in a Sonnet enclosure, feeding a VMix Laptop with Thunderbolt 3. Both VMix and Media Express see 59.94i and neither see either 29.97P or 59.94P.

Any ideas?

I have used a Duo 2 extensively with VMix in the past at both of those framerates, so this is not expected at all. Can you get it to output 59.94? Perhaps try that and loop it back into an input, and if that doesn't work, it may be busted.

Running at 59.94i is only 1.5G, 59.94p is 3G.

How are you converting from your GPU output to SDI? I suspect your running into a level A/B issue.

Thanks all. I used my ATEM 4k output at 59.94P with color bars and the card took it in fine. (Had to uncase it so I didn't use it yesterday.) Long story short, my cheapo chinese HDMI>SDI converters are the issue. BM doesn't like there output which is a bit suprising because I've used these converters many times on big shows and they've worked consistently well. Live and learn...

Thanks for the help.
