Cloud Store Mini 8TB speeds

I purchased a Cloud Store Mini and it seems to be working fine. However, I noticed when I connect via USB-C, the maximum write speeds do not break through 295 MB/s and the read speeds max out at 315 MB/s. Is this normal? On the same port/cable I get almost double that with my SSD drives. I expected faster. While this is sufficient for editing, it impacts backup and transfers.

Thanks for any insight,
Clark

I'd try an adapter from USB-C to 10G Ethernet on your computer then.
I didn't test the 8 TB Mini, but with the Cloud Pod it's faster.

Good idea Uli. I will try that and see what happens. I have a MacMIni M1 with that port, that should also be able to test it. The only issue is I was planning on having one computer plugged into it by the 10 Gb ethernet and another by the USB-C port for shared editing.

Well, I don't know how much that speed difference will matter in everyday work.
But I'm sure it would be faster than having a computer without 10G plugged into 1G, even if the Mini serves as a bridge and it won't slow down 10G.

Did you try via a 10GBE adaptor?

With Sonnet 10gbe adapter it's around 850-950 mbs read and write on the 10gbe ethernet
USB-C is 250/300 maximum

I purchased a QNAP QSW-M1208-8C-US 12-Port 10GbE switch and two QNAP Thunderbolt 3 to 10GbE adapters to connect my two laptops that only have Thunderbolt to the 8TB Cloudstore. I am very happy with the performance. It has been a gamechanger for my workflow. I am looking forward to adding a workstation soon to the mix. Now to figure that one out.
