UltraStudio Monitor 3G down convert?

PostThu Sep 29, 2022 7:28 pm

I have an UltraStudio Monitor 3G connected to a 1080 tv with the HDMI connection. If I am editing in Resolve in a project that is 4K, is there any way to have the UltraStudio Monitor 3G downconvert that to 1080 for that monitor?

As it sits now it will crop it and just show a zoomed version of the picture. I can't find any combination of settings that will downconvert it. Thank you,

Let DR do the downconversion (if your hardware is up to it):

Thank you. That is what I have done but this is a 4K project that I will have to export in 4K so was wanting to stay that way.

Maybe there's something I don't understand about Resolve, am I supposed to toggle between? Maybe the more expensive UltraStudio could do that down conversion?

Look to the bottom of the image:
Video monitoring HD 1080P 25.

Timeline is not reduced to the monitoring output. So your deliverable remains intact.

I'm monitoring all my stuff at 1080p this way with the same device. It's OK for checking colors.
I export UHD nevertheless.

I have a similar problem where I have USM 3G hooked up to an Asus monitor. I have the video monitoring set to HD 1080P, but the image on the monitor is zoomed in, like it's displaying a 4K image on an HD monitor.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
