MacOS 13.0 Desktop Video DeckLink Driver

PostTue Nov 01, 2022 6:09 pm

I have a DeckLink Quad card and it was working fine under MacOS 12.x. Due to a security alert, we were required to update to the just released MacOS 13.0 and now the system doesn't recognize the card.

It sees a PCI card in the correct slot and identifies it as a video card but doesn't attach the BMD driver to it so we can't use it.

Since the MacOS 13.0 was just released do you have a driver in the works anytime soon? I checked and the 12.4 Desktop Video setup is the latest on the website.

Thanks,

Exactly. Ultra Studio MIni 4k and Deck Link Quad, it is not recognized by the 12.4 drivers. When is an update of Desktop Video drivers under OSX Ventura planned?

I second that question. Even though compared to a lot of other software developers BM is usually quick if it comes to updating their software to make it compatible with the latest OS it seems this one was not testet before with any of the betas which seems strange

On non-working Desktop VIdeo 12.4 drivers under Ventura and computers with M1 processors. Important information.

I did the test on two computers.
Well, on a MacBookPro13 laptop with M1 and Ventura system, the drivers work. Both Ultra Studio Mini 4k and Decklink Quad cards are detected by me. Unfortunately, it has a second Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra, the driver no longer sees these cards. I'm afraid it may be the fault of the processor model.

Question for other users. Do you have the same?

Great request to the manufacturer for an urgent and immediate response to updating the drivers.

Chris.

I wouldn't touch Ventura with a long stick for at least 5-6 months. Just saying.
Where's the security issue with 12.6.1?
Maybe AI can help you. Or make you obsolete.

I had a similar problem Desktop Video not recognizing my UltraStudio Monitor 3G. I discovered that I had to go to Settings/General/login items and under "Allow in Background" find "Blackmagic Design Desktop Video", then turn the toggle switch on. After I did that the Desktop Video app recognized the UltraStudio Monitor 3G device. I hope that this solves your issue

Hi,

It is not working on my MacBook Pro 2018 running the latest version of MacOS Ventura, even after getting the last Desktop Video Setup 12.4.1 version.

Any news on your side ?

Thanks
