That's a fair point, but theres a logic to hoping to see a Resolve 19 announcement at NAB 2023.
Resolve versions 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13*, 14, 15 and 16 were all announced at NAB over successive years from 2010 to 2019, roughly following the traditional 'announce at NAB, ship at IBC' pattern... but in 2020 the pandemic had come along. For 2+ years the world went into lockdown, dev/release schedules went completely out the window, trade shows were cancelled etc. Had the ability or the need to hit a 'big reveal date' still existed, Resolve 17's eventual Nov 2020 reveal would probably have been much earlier. Same for 2021. By 2022, things were looking a bit saner, and once again, Resolve's next big update announcement (the v18 reveal) was timed to coincide with NAB. So now we've got 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13*, 14, 15, 16 and 18 all announced at NAB, with a blip for Covid where the cycle slipped to 18 months for 2 releases.
Obviously theres no way to guess whether BMD will want to stick with an 18 month release cycle for Resolve going forward... but its probably worth noting that competitors like Adobe are sticking with a yearly update cycle.
