recharging the Speed Editor

PostWed Mar 22, 2023 9:07 am

Hey there!

I have read some threads on the forum about the problems with the recharge and charging level of the Speed Editor

From what I understand is that (probably) the main cause is that the Speed Editor needs a bigger charger and not one from a smartphone perhaps

So I was wondering if it was possible to have the correct output electricity spec of the charger for the Speed Editor, specifically:

Watts (W)
Ampere (A)
Volts (V)

... or a recommended charger model, but with the spec I could avoid buying another USB charger...

Thank You
My Best!

The cell in the Speed Editor is a 18650 which is shrink wrapped with its own battery management board.
So even though I have not seen the board irl you can be sure that an ordinary usb powered connection of 5V and 500mA will work properly.
That means abut 5-6 hours or so from an empty cell to fully charged.

There’s really no reason to aim for a faster charging process even though BM could do use a 1A charging board is possible.
But the usb interface when connected should define if it’s a 500mA device or higher.

That. And voltage is irrelevant, since it's clearly defined for USB.
My desaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
