UltraStudio Mini Recorder M2 compatibility

PostThu May 18, 2023 3:15 pm

Hi, is the Ultra Studio Mini Recorder going to be compatible with M2 MacBook Pro Macs?
I've always used them with intel on MacBook Pro and always worked fine. Now I have a M2 Macbook Pro with desktop Video 12.3 installed but doesn't detect the UltraStudio Mini Recorder.

You'll need the 3G version for Apple silicon.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Studio 18.6.5, MacOS 13.6.5
MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM and iPhone 15 Pro
Speed Editor, UltraStudio Monitor 3G, iMac 2017, eGPU

On a Reddit post a few months ago, some users had mentioned being able to get the UltraStudio Mini working on Apple Silicon Macs via a Terminal command... but they didn't give details

I have an UltraStudio Mini as well as an UltraStudio Recorder 3G, and both were working fine on my 2019 Intel Macbook Pro with Monterey. But trying both of these on a MacBook Pro 16" M1 Pro, only the 3G is working. So i'd love to find out about a possible Terminal command! Or is there perhaps a certain combo of OS version and Desktop Video driver version that works?
