3-pin BMD Power Supplies

PostSat Jun 03, 2023 6:45 am

I've just bought a second-hand Micro VideoHub, but it's without its power supply. I'm now trying to power it up.

I've bought a brand new VideoHub power supply (marketed as for the Universal VideoHub), and at first glance, it looks like exactly the right connector to mate with the Micro VideoHub, but — alas — it doesn't fit. The outer metal shield surrounding the three pins seem the same size on both supply and device.

I know that the old Broadcast panel [and older Production switchers?] used this design of power connector too.

Are there two different sizes of this connector?
I've bought the 12V150W supply. Does the 12V70W power supply have a physically smaller connector.

Lastly, does anyone know if I do manage to get them physically connected (don't ask any questions about how I might do this!!!) — will that be OK?
