Is there a way to apply blanking / letterbox to the feed coming from a Desktop Video device like an UltraStudio 4K, Monitor 3G or 4K Mini?
I am aware that in Resolve you can apply blanking / cropping on your timeline (not project level which would be nice), but in apps like FCPX and Premiere you can't do that. The only way is to apply an overlay image/crop on the timeline/sequence. This option is fine for when I am deep into an edit, but while I am reviewing the rushes from the media pool / browser on my video and client monitor there isn't any blanking applied.
So I am hoping there is way to apply it directly to the output. It seems like the ATEM devices can do this, but it is a pricey option just to do this seemingly simple task.
