Frame rate terrible when I transfer video to laptop

Hello everybody. I use a BMPCC4K for my videos, and I recently got a new laptop (a Dell Inspiron 5425) that can finally run DaVinci. But I recently put my SD card into my laptop, went to check the videos, and found the frame rate to be, like, 1 frame per second. I tried looking up solutions or if this is just something wrong with the player, but I think my keywords were all too specific because I couldn't find anything about it. Anyone know what the problem is? All the video footage looks fine when I review it in-camera.

Simply your computer is not strong enough.
Learn more about resolve to try to reduce timeline resolution, proxy mode, proxy doing of clip to edit.
Or if you are in time, take back computer and bring powerful computer, but before check the minimum specs to Blackmagic Design website.

Carlo is right, that computer is massively underpowered for DR. I doubt that it will be a pleasure to work with even with all the tricks he mentions.
Laptops in general are not a very good solution for DR. If you must have a laptop, go for a massive gaming laptop under Windows or get a Mac Mx. But a good desktop machine for Windows will be cheaper.
