Playback is in slow motion (off speed frame rate on)

PostThu Mar 14, 2024 6:41 am

I recorded in FPS 48/23.98 shutter 180. Check the footage when I got home and playback is in slow motion. After doing some research I realize that I have the off speed frame rate on. I need to match the footage to my other cameras (not Blackmagic) as I need to do a multi cam edit.

I have already change the video frame rate to 48 and the playback is still kind of slow motion and did not sync with the sound. I have the sound recorded with an external recorder.

Anyone can help?

It seems that you recorded 48 fps into a 23.97 fps project.
Where did you change the frame rate? Clip Attributes?
Multi cam will be a nightmare, though.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Yes I change the frame rate of the clip in Clip Attributes. Also tried changing the speed to 200%. Matching the clip with the audio I got from external recorder and it's close but off by a few frames. The beginning is aligned but not towards the end. I am wondering how and where I should drop some frames to match.

Thanks.

That’s expected behavior, unfortunately. Sync is not well maintained with off-speed recording, IIRC there’s even a warning in the manual.
Where to adapt by fiddling with small edits is up to you now.
Since you can touch that button so easily, I tend to keep my off-speed settings to extreme values, so it’s more obvious that something is wrong. Or you could tape it over.
