Ripple Delete

PostThu Mar 14, 2024 8:26 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm encountering an issue and I'm hoping you can assist me.

I've set up my keyboard shortcuts so that pressing the Q and E keys triggers ripple delete functions, while the W key is assigned to the razor tool for quicker editing. However, I'm facing a problem: when I press the Q key to delete footage before the playhead in DaVinci Resolve, it cuts either the video or the audio, but not both, leading to synchronization issues between the audio and video tracks.

I hope you can give me some advice or maybe I have not configured something correctly.

I uploaded a screenshot so you can see the problem.

Cheers,
Javier

For anybody new to Resolve Editing, be sure to go through the free textbook & training videos:

"The Editor's Guide to DaVinci Resolve 18"

available on Blackmagic's Training website:

https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/produc ... e/training

You'll find these are enormously helpful, even if you have experience with other editing & color platforms. There's tons of shortcuts covered, which will help cut precious minutes off every session. The 4204-page manual is good as well, but the textbooks present it in a much more concise way. (Coming soon is a Resolve 18.6 training update.)

The section in the manual on track selection will help you figure out what gets deleted when you hit the delete key, and why.
