Video unable to open from Hyperdeck recording

We recorded two 2 hour sessions for broadcast on a Hyperdeck. We have been using it for years without issue. One file opens and plays as expected. The other is unable to open, it shows as a QuickTime file and no matter what we do we cannot open it. We cannot simply reshoot so we need to recover the footage. Any ideas?

What specific file format did you use? .MOV is just a container -- I believe you can record H.264 or ProRes or DNxHR in a Hyperdeck, so there's a few choices here.

If it's ProRes, there are companies out there that can recover them, but they're not cheap. One is Treasured:

H.264, the weird thing is one file opens fine for that day and the other one doesn't.
