Sync & Link multiples audio clips into a video clip

Hi everyone! I'd appreciate if you could help me out with a question I have about DaVinci Resolve.
I just signed up for this chat and I want to thank everyone here for helping me out in various instances.

I'm looking to find out if there's a way to synchronize 4 or more audio tracks and embed them within a clip as channels. My ultimate goal is to edit comfortably without having to create compound clips and then be able to export an AAF to an audio editor. Here's the scenario:

I have a dialogue scene with two people. Shot with a Sony FX3 using DJI Mics, recording internally in the camera and the mics. Additionally, there's a boom recording into a Tascam DR-40x. So, I end up with the internal camera audio (DJI mic1 & mic2 mix), voices of both actor from each mic, and the boom audio, making it 4 audio tracks.

I usually use Syncaila to sync everything on a timeline and pick the good shots from there. Then create a compound clip with the audios and at the end of the video edition, I unfold everything on the timeline
Does anyone know how to improve this method?

Thanks a million in advance!

Well I have the same question of yours. Did you have some feedbacks from somewhere else?

For a documentaru that I'm editing I have many multiple audio clips associated with many video clip and I don't want to make coumpound clips. I don't like the sync system in davinci because when you sync waveform and/or timecode audio files with a video clip it doesn't show waveforms in the end on the timeline and you can't even unfold these audio files to pre-mix them which is a bit absurd for such a pro softwware.

cheers

Nothing, at the moment I haven't received any new updates on this.

For now, I am synchronizing with Syncalia since it works infinitely better, but it loses all the fun of having to depend on something external, besides being costly.
Perhaps the problem comes from how it's recorded.
I imagine if you do the audio capture on a pro recorder, it lets you put each recording source on different channels, but I use the DJI Mic and a boom pole. So I use the files generated by the mics themselves internally and the boom pole from another recorder, so even if I had a pro recorder, I couldn't put them as one source; there must be some way to do it later in DaVinci or another software.

Hope someone could help us.

Select the video and audio clip you want to sync and link together, just select them, right click and click "auto sync media.." there are few options but you can enable retain embedded audio and the original clip audio will stay on the clip and the dji audio will link and append, making your clip appear as a 4 track mono file.

Chapter 21 of the manual details a ton of this stuff and the in and outs of the options, very much worth a read. Compound clips are not needed.

All of that changes when you start editing via multicam however. I just slogged through this yesterday and it involves changing your audio track to an adaptive track and editing the audio in Fairlight.

Not the best way to do it and something I need to understand a lot better.

Inside the multicam you can manually select which mono track you want per camera angle within the clip attributes> audio tab. You can disable any tracks you don't want for that angle in multicams. The link will stay working in the media pool, so you just need to specify how you want your multicam to be setup.

My workflow now is to have a Timeline for any shooting sessions and I synchronise everything here. Three lav mics, zoom F3, (wild) camcorder B-roll and OBS captures of computers that are filmed for this very specific project.

And then I work with stacked timelines, getting what I need here and copy paster in my film editing TL.

For sorting out oll of these sync rushes, I add a specific keyword name and color for clips that are in specific TL sync sessions.
