Hello!
I have a question regarding proper NCLC tag usage on macOS.
My current setup includes a Mac Pro 2019, an Eizo CG319X monitor (which auto-calibrates to Rec.709 with gamma 2.4), and a DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K card connected via HDMI to the Eizo. I'm trying to ensure that the image on my Mac appears as accurate as possible when grading in DaVinci Resolve.
What NCLC tag values (Color Primaries / Transfer Characteristics / Matrix Coefficients) should I be using to ensure proper color interpretation by macOS and QuickTime-based players?
Is it enough to set the output color space in Resolve to Rec.709 Gamma 2.4, or should I explicitly set the NCLC tags to 1-2-1 (Rec.709 / BT.709 gamma / BT.709 matrix), or 1-1-1 or something else?
I’d really appreciate any advice on how to properly structure this workflow—from Resolve export settings to ensuring consistency in macOS playback. Are there best practices for NCLC tagging in this type of Rec.709 (2.4 gamma) pipeline?
Thanks in advance!
