The new 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G-10 converter looks like an interesting device, but it lies somewhere in the no-mans-land between what we have and what is currently needed. I'd like to see this do:
- 12 channels audio out rather than 10, to accomodate Dolby Atmos workflows like 7.1.4, the standard setup for immersive audio post production. 7.1 was enough 10 years ago but audio has evolved!
- To act as an an audio/video interface directly over thunderbolt, rather than just as an SDI/HDMI converter requiring a Decklink SDI interface as well
If 2 more audio outs were added I'd be jumping at the chance to part with my money. As it is, not so much.
