Resolve 20, stuttering video makes it impossible to edit

Hello- I'm not sure what to do, there is no flow in workflow. files are Bmpcc4k braw q3 open gate.

I have a moderate system and never had problems with full res 4k braw video even with a handful of colouring nodes, now the footage won't play without stuttering without any edits.

*playing same clips in braw player works flawlessly.

I have done the following
-updated studio drivers, uninstalled reinstalled
-clean installed resolve, restarted computer
-tried multiple cache options, usually, I can have it set to none, and I have no issues
-created new timelines
-created new projects
-tried SSD and HDD, nothing works

But nothing is shutting down, no error logs, no bluescreens, just playback so stuttered it is impossible to edit.

So I attempted to edit on my lesser powered laptop, and resolve still works smooth as butter on it

my specs of both machines:

PC
12700
3060ti
64gb ram

Laptop

3060
32gb ram

What if you edit and color in HD, and then switch to 4K for the final render?
