Smartview HD

Hi,
I have purchased a SmartView Hd monitor and i think that is very fantastic but....
The BlackMagic can't sell this product with a quality software for setting color display... Is not acceptable... I hope that BackMagic developers think to write a software for setting color professional.

Will the Blackmagicdesign release the software update for SmartView HD monitors for color calibration or at least for setting for each color manualy in SmartView application?

I just received my new SmartView HD monitor.
I read the boards before purchasing, but I really thought the color bars would match those
on my FCP7 vector scope. They do NOT. Very disappointed. I bought this specifically for color reference during edits. Help, Blackmagic!!!!

Smartview HD have only 262,144 Colors .. It cant be an color reference monitor ..

We do not need the Blackmagicdesign Smartview HD monitors as the reference monitors.
For that we use have the JVC DT-V24G1 monitors.

We bought several Smartview HD monitors for our synhro rooms because they fit nicely to the rack boxes which are located in front left side of the tehnicians beside the essential audio hardware units. The problem is that when the client when he sits in the synhro room always asks why the t shirt of the laundry tv ad is blue and not white as on the main Phlips 47 inch screens which are in the upper center of all the synhro rooms. Also the main 22 inch Philips LCD screens which cost under 200 USD in the
recording boots for moderators asistance also shows white and not blue t shirts. And all the normal LCDs can be manualy basic color adjustable...

Please know that I have tried to manualy color adjust the incoming HD SDI signal with several HD Link PRO units between the Smartview HD monitors but this is not great solution and the total cost is almost the same as for example the Sony LMD-2110W broadcast monitor with the optional Sony BKM-341HS HD-SDI board and the optional Sony MB-529 rackmount kit and you have then the rackmount monitor which has even larger screen size and is color adjustable and has even the HDMi ...

Could Blackmagicdesign release the simple software update for basic color adjustments please?

The suggestion is a good one. I'd like to see a software to help get a little closer to true. But at this time i know of no plans to do so.

Smartview = my first disappointment with a BMD product (and I'm using most of them for my productions...)

Hard to read that no decent software will be provided to manage the color of this monitor.

I didn't use Black magic design shirt before.. but i will buy once..
