Digital cameras don't produce negatives. Although they mimic film cameras they don't use film.
They produce digital files that need to be processed in Post. There are choices to be made about the type of files produced in the camera and they can be RAW which are very large and will require more work in Post but give you more scope and ability to manipulate the results. Or they can be ProRes or DNxHD both of which are easier to mange in post but more limited.
And if the above raises questions for you (like what is RAW, ProRes or DNxHD) then again I'd seek local advice to manage your post.
