I have a 5770 for gui. would a 5870 help with thumbnail redraw speed in the lightbox page?

Hi Paul,
I am a Quadro user so am not sure. I always say the bigger the better as such.
Have you tried it yet?
Maybe there is someone who has one that can advise.
Cheers
Radman.

Hi Paul,
Not sure you are about at the moment.
Did you eventually sort your issues out with your Expander 4. Mic at Cubix is always helpful.
Touch wood no issues to date with mine.
One thing I did notice was that the Nvidia drivers worked slightly differently depending on the order I had my cards in and where I had my monitors connected.
Cheers
Radman.

Cubix had a blow power supply out of warranty, sent in for rush repair. Works great now.
Specifically thinking of swapping out 5770 for 5870 if it increases GUI redraw speed

I have my raid near me when working at home and it really chatters when entering the Gallery mode so my guess would be i/o speed plays a large part in the redraw. FWIW, I have a 120 for the Gui and am working on a 1300 shot project and the Gallery seems pretty responsive.

Paul, I am glad all is well with your Expader4. How old is yours if I may ask?
Yes the chattering is definatley a sign of been over stressed.
As a matter of interest what would be the average amount of nodes that each graphics card could handle. I know this is probably a tricky one to answer but just a ballpark, that's without droping below say 25 frames?

Cheers
Radman.
