GTX 570 Ultra Charged

PostTue Nov 20, 2012 2:11 pm

Will this card work with Resolve lite in a Mac Pro 2009?

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/25gb-pov ... -480-cores

I have a GT120 installed for GUI and boot operations if needed. I can't seem to find a GTX 570 Evga 2.5GB in the uk? I'm slightly worried about using an over clocked card for heat and driver compatibility issues.

I hope someone more knowledgable provides a definitive answer but you could ask the German supplier if it will work. It's a PC extreme gamers card and won't work well with the EFI boot system in Macs. It takes 219 watts! Not cheap either. The 2.5GB DDR5 video ram is good. But it only has 480
CUDA cores and Resolve loves CUDA cores. Perhaps Peter Chamberlain of BMD will see your post and respond.

Sure, it should work. I question the stability when it's that far overclocked, especially since I've never heard of the company. But maybe that's just because I'm in the USA. But if you trust them, I see no reason it wouldn't work. Personally, I run an EVGA GTX570 with 2.5GB and I love it. If you end up getting this card, I'd love to see your Standard Candle test results.
Since you use a GT120 for GUI, the lack of EFI support is irrelevant.

I would recommend macvids from us on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nvidia-GTX-570- ... 35c17fe217

they support and help you in any way.

also patched cards have internal data bus fully operational as pc ones will run only half speed on data bus.
