Noise reduction controls buggy

Seems to be a 9.0.3 thing. When I set radius to 3 and then go to adjust threshold, radius jumps back to 4.
Happens 9 out of 10 times, and when working quickly is a real pain.

Hi Paul,

Are you seeing this on a specific panel/on the UI or both?

Sorry. Mouse in GUI. I have element panels and sadly this is not mapped.
But it used to work fine with mouse in GUI.

Hi Paul,
Working with a Wacom tablet.
Issue not happening with me fortunatley.
Is there a pref file that is corrupted maybe. Can one delete this in Resolve as in other App's.

I went through a 20 clip timeline, adjusting Radius to 3 then adjusting Threshold on every clip. No issues with Radius changing while adjusting Threshold. I did this on a Mac. Is that what you are using? What type of mouse are you using?

Hi Dwaine
Macpro 12 core 2012, 48gb ram, OS 10.2.8, resolve 9.0.3, bmd de 3d+, cubix w/3 gtx 570, apple USB Magic Mouse, tangent element, apple USB keyboard, rr2722 hba, sans dig 8 drive sas enclosure.
I set radius to 3, and then as soon as I click to drag on the threshold, radius jumps back to 4. If I set radius to 2, it will usually hold. Very weird and didn't used to do this in the 9 betas. Not sure if it started with 9.0.2 or 9.0.3
Maybe an good fix would be to map the nr to the many available knobs on the element?

Properly mapping the Tangent would be a HUGE benefit. I know we would be willing to pay extra for the privilege of being able to set up our own mappings. Resolve+ ?

Are you using any special mapping software for your Magic Mouse, or just the standard Mac System Preferences / Mouse settings? Just wondering how you do 3rd button selections with your Magic Mouse.

I didn't test with Magic Mouse, but I can once I know how yours is configured.

no special mapping. i thinks its called magic mouse (it's the one with the little scroll ball in the middle - so it has center click) but it's the apple wired usb (the wireless gesture mice that ship with mac pros dont work in my office)

I'm not a Mac expert, but I thought the Magic Mouse was the one currently shipping with Mac Pro systems, that is wireless, and has no center button functionality. So I was hoping that if that's what you had, and you had some third party mapping software to emulate third button mouse functionality, that such software might be causing your issue. But if you have a standard wired mouse with 3 button functionality, it's not likely the issue. So I'm back to being baffled by why you are having this issue. If we can't reproduce it, it's hard to fix.

Can you provide a screen shot of your Mac System Preferences Mouse settings page, plus a screen shot for the Control and Options settings, if any?

Hi Dwaine
It's starting to sound like it's just me with this issue as there are no responses here or on other forums.
as a workaround I'm making bunches of power grades w/various nr settings to speed things up (oddly though this takes more time to render as an additional node instead of doing the nr in the base grade node).
fwiw here's the screen grab. not sure what is meant by "control and option settings" , but if you mean any custom keyboard layouts, everything is default - I never muck about with customizing that kind of stuff.
thanks for your attention to this matter
Maybe 9.0.4 fixes it for me.

Your mouse setup looks nothing like mine. But I realize I did my test in Lion. So I went and looked in Mountain Lion, and the mouse settings there are yet different. I did redo my testing on a Mountain Lion system, running 9.0.4. I tried both a wired 3 button mouse, and the awful Apple supplied 2 button wireless mouse. Both behaved as expected. After changing Radius to 3, no amount of messing with Threshold affects the Radius setting.

Can you send us a copy of a Project that is behaving this way for you? Maybe there is something in the Project Settings that is aggravating the issue.
