Loving scene detect for getting notched lists.

Are there any shortcuts I am missing once scenes have been detected?

e.g. P/N are Previous / Next scene change

but are there shortcuts for 'join clips' and 'split clip' that work in Scene Detect page?

thanks

Hi Trevor,

on the right side of the Scene Cut Detection interface there is a list of the cuts that Scene Detect has made. If you highlight one of them and hit the - key (i.e., the minus key) that cut will be removed, i.e., joined. If you find a cut that Scene Detect has missed, park on it, hit the + key, and an edit will be added to the list.

Also, you can do what they call pruning the list, removing many erroneous cuts at once, such as those generated by fades.

Also, a very handy tip: save the Scene Cut List and the EDL for the scenes you've split and save this file in the folder with the original file. In some cases, this comes in handy, should you need to split and re-import the file.

I sure wish BMD would add a progress bar when you add the split cuts to the media pool.

Thanks, but I know how to prune and remove cuts. But it requires a lot of mouse work, much quicker to do it with the keyboard - hence the request

For me keyboard shortcuts + and - (both on alphanumeric and numpad) are working ;)

Ah - if the 'timeline' is focussed then the shortcuts don't work. They work if the 'EDL' has focus (ditto arrows up & down).
