Where is the driver for DeckLink HD Extreme 3D?

Hi All,

I am new here at the forum but have been using "DeckLink HD Extreme 3D" for 2-3 years without any trouble.

However, after installing Yosemite on my PowerMac, my card stopped working.
In the "System Preferences/Blackmagic Design" everything looks inactive.

My guess is I need to install a new driver. I have been looking for it online without any luck. The online manual says visit "blackmagicdesign.com/support"
There I cannot find any driver for DeckLink HD extreme 3D card.

Maybe I am just not seeing well :ugeek: If anyone can help or point me in the right direction I would be forever grateful.

Cheers,
Saevar.

While your DeckLink is a legacy product, you should still be able to download the current Desktop Video from the support page and have it function properly. The disclaimer is that you would need to be using the most current software approved and not older software that is not supported anymore (Final Cut 7 being one example).

You can download previous Desktop Videos from the support page and run the firmware update on the card. Make sure to check your computer specs and download the correct version.

I am having the same problem. Apple was helping me with a problem with my computer. I upgraded from Mountain Lion to Yosemite, and all the sudden my Decklink HD Extreme 3D was inoperable. Like the gentleman stated above, when you looked at it in system preferences, it was grayed out. It just didn't function. With the other problem I was having with my computer, I found it best to roll the whole system back to ML, and the 3D worked again. There's only one DHDE3D driver on the BMD site and it doesn't work with Yosemite, and i'm sure at this point it's just tough luck. Time to invest in the latest and leave what's unsupported behind. I have a 2010 Mac Pro.

Just wanted to add that I'm using FCP 7.

I am having the same problem with my Decklink HD Extreme 3D. I upgraded to Yosemite last month and the Decklink was no longer functional. Most of the codecs were gone. In System Preferences, the Blackmagic Design parameters were there, but they were grayed out and had no effect. I don't think it's a driver or firmware update issue. There's nothing available newer than 2011 to my knowledge. Because of this and another pressing reason, I rolled back to Mountain Lion, and the card works again. What can be done? Thanks.

When you update the OS you also have to update the BM software/drivers to one that supports that version of the OS, the down side is that the updated BM drivers may no longer support FCP 7
