Media E. rejects most files:-( All are 1080/25 or 50

PostThu Dec 27, 2012 11:09 pm

Hello,

I just started with my new Intensity Pro. I have installed everything according to the manual (incl. latest drivers).

The good news: I get output to a FullHD-Monitor.
The bad news: Only very few (around 3 out of 10) files that I generated using Premiere CS6 work. All are AVIs. Media Express rejects most of the files:-( I have no idea how they differ from one another.

In Premiere I do not get the option of choosing a BlackMagic preset for resolution etc.; I only see the normal Premiere presets.
I cannot find a Blackmagic-codec either.

My question: What settings should I use in Premiere (for 1080/50i files) in order to be able to see them on the Intensity Pro via Media Express as a finished file?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Christian,

Media Express will only playback video formats and codecs that it can capture into. So to playback a file exported from Premiere Pro you will need to encode your video using something like Uncompressed or Motion JPEG on PC, or Uncompressed or ProRes on Mac.

In Premiere's Export to Media properties you should find in the Preset dropdown a selection for Blackmagic AVI (If you don't, please try re-installing the driver). Then down toward the bottom of that screen under the Video tab you should find all the various codec options. You should be able to select Uncompressed etc. here.

Hi Chris,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I definitely do not get to see any BM codecs in Premiere.

Paul suggested that the problem might be the installation path of my CS6 collection (it's on drive P - for programs...).

Would you have any advice for me there?

Thanks a lot!

Christian
