UltraStudio Express and HD Signal

I have an UltraStudio express hooked to a Mac Book Pro through a ThunderBolt Connection. I am wanting to use the express as a capture source for a live video stream and will not be capturing HD video. I can get a camera to show up in Media Express if I set it up as an SD video source through either HDMI, composite or component. When I try and set it to HD, I get no signal. I set my preferences to HD 1080p 30, which is what I have the camera set to, but no matter what I do, I get a blank screen - any ideas?

What is your camera? It is entirely possible that even if your camera is shooting 1080p30, the output is 1080psf30, i.e. 1080i60. Try setting Media Express to 1080i60 or 1080i59.94
