Teranex 2d and 3d differences

PostMon Mar 04, 2013 5:16 pm

I am a little confused about which model does frame rate conversions, i.e. NTSC to PAL 59.97 to 50i etc.

In the manual it appears to say that the 2d does this but on the 'Products' page of the website next to the Teranex 2d it says:

"De-interlace, up/down/cross conversion, cadence detection/removal, noise reduction and more."

Next to the Teranex 3d it says:

"Teranex 2D Processor features plus dual stream 3D and 4:4:4 format and frame rate conversions."

This would suggest that the 3d does frame rate conversions when the 2d does not.

Any help appreciated.

Mainly the 3d offers 444, 3d, additional 2k sizes. See more info here:

Also the manual on the support page offers great info.
But yeah they both do frame rate and size conversions. That's what they do....

Thanks Paul, I wasn't sure. I thought maybe the 2D would do downconvert, up convert etc but you'd have to go with the 3D to get frame convert.

While you are there, how does the frame rate convert compare to other hardware standards converters e.g. Alchemist?
