Yet Another Timecode Issue

PostMon Mar 11, 2013 6:45 pm

Shot ProRes 4444 from Sony F3 to Pix240 with proper Pix240 settings to embed camera timecode.

PremierePro recognizes that timecode and shows it in metadata. Exported XML from PPro to bring a clip into Resolve 9.1.1 (full version). Resolve could not link the files owing to timecode mismatch.

Imported all of my camera sources files into Resolve and in the media pool, each clip shows a starting timecode of 0. Obviously, Resolve couldn't relink to the PPro XML.

Any idea of why all clips start at a timecode of 0 in Resolve's media pool but in the NLE they all have the correct timecode.

Thanks

We've had a couple of reports of this in the last week, and have asked for a sample file to examine. As of yet, no sample files have been provided. If you can provide a sample file to davincihelp AT blackmagicdesign DOT com, with a reference to this thread, that would be helpful.

These are ProRes 4444 files and long takes, so files are about 25gb. I'll shoot a few 10 sec clips and send those along.

Any updates on this?
It sounds like the same problems I've had with FCPX, and native footage taken from a Canon 5D3.

I sent in the log files, etc to the help address, but wasn't asked about sending footage. I've not heard anything back on that, but wondering what had been found since this looks similar to my problems.

Thanks in advance,

No one has sent us any ProRes sample files captured on the Pix240 yet.

If your footage is not being captured on the Pix240, it is not related to the topic of this thread.

Doesn't all Canon 5D native footage have 0 starting TC by default?

The Pix240 ProRes issue appears to be fixed in the new 9.1.3 release. Please give it a try and let us know what you think.
