Ultr 3D/FCP X only 720x486 SD out

Advice greatly appreciated.
I have only one choice for A/V out from the FCP Preferences pull down menu. I also have FCP 7 which does contain all the BM choices. I have uninstalled the BM software and installed the latest. Again, OK in 7 but limited to SD in FCP X. Any thoughts?

Choose a setting in the Blackmagic control panel BEFORE launching FCP X
