what is BMD Desktop Video?

Just downloaded Resolve 9.1.1 and saw the requirements included BMD Desktop Video, version 9.5 or later.

I can't find Desktop Video in the Support page, and I don't understand what it is.

Any quick explanations? Resolve seems to be working OK without it, unless I unknowingly already got it from the Resolve DVD installation.

Desktop Video is basic video software that you would need to set up Blackmagic products like DeckLink, Multibridge, UltraStudio Pro, Intensity cards or H.264 Pro Recorder. I don't think you need it to run Resolve.

You can download the latest version for free from the Support page of any of the products I listed above. Here's a link for the Windows version: http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support ... lse&os=win

Christine is correct. No need for Desktop Video with Resolve, unless you are using a BMD Video I/O device with Resolve to drive a grading display.
