Suddenly no audio out from Intensity Pro 4k with Edius Pro 9

I'm using the Intensity Pro 4k with Edius 9 on a Windows 10 PC. The video out signal I use comes from HDMI out and that works fine. Up until today, I was taking analogues audio from the Intensity Pro analogue outs and it worked without issues. But from today, there is no audio from the analogue out.

  1. The picture and audio still output flawlessly from HDMI.
  2. Picture output also works using component.
  3. I tried to test audio in and it doesn't appear to work, but I'm not sure I'm doing a good test. I'm capturing audio to an Edius timeline.
  4. I tried switching the Intensity Pro to another PCI-E slot. The issue remains.
  5. I updated to the latest version of the Intensity pro drivers and software. No help.
  6. I checked and I have all latest Windows updates, including latest
    .Net Framework version for my version of Windows.

Unless the card has suddenly developed a fault, which seems unlikely as it's only a couple of months old, I can't think of anything else. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I'm guessing that no one has any more ideas of things to check than I did? I guess I may have a faulty item after all and should return it to my supplier?

Try playing file out of MediaExpress eliminating Edius as potential issue.
If this still doesn't give you audio then card is most likely faulty.

Thanks Andrew and apologies for the delay in responding. But I'm not quite sure how to test analogue audio output using Media Express? Does that not play all it's audio through the computer's sound card?

I have the same issue with Intensity Pro 4K. First noticed with Edius. Randomly from time to time the audio stops coming through HDMI. Ruled out Edius, happens too with BM Resolve.

Disabling and enabling the Blackmagic audio driver in Device Manager, rebooting doesn't fix.

Updating BM desktop video driver doesn't fix.

Ended up using HDMI for video image only and wiring phono audio out from the Intesity to my amp.

Randomly without doing anything, audio comes back over HDMI and works again.

I have no idea what causes this intermittently.

Sounds like hardware issue. Assume no warranty on the card, so not much you can do. Take card out, clean fan etc. and re-set in slot.

The card is still in warranty and replacing is an option, albeit with inconvenience and its actually working fine at the moment. Failing to output audio is intermittent and random without explanation. Even when not working, by the time send back and if the supplier tests, it may very well work in a different system.

Given the amount of topics on this same subject re HMDI loss of audio when you do a forum and google search, issues with driver versions, some working well, others not. Hopefully the more that share experience, something more conclusive can be determined.
