Hi all,
I'm a FCPX editor and a Resolve grader. I use an Ultrastudio Mini Monitor on my iMac Pro and all works really well. Except in FCPX the image send through the mini monitor using AV/Output has a hard time catching up. NOT while playing, but rather while scrubbing or doubling viewing speed. You know, general manipulation.
Of course, the Mini Monitor is a Thunderbolt 2 device (I think, or is it Thunderbolt 1?), I'm using an adapter T2 to T3 and the SDI signal is only 1.5G. My video signal is 1080p25.
I would like the mirroring of my actions in FCPX to be much snappier. So my question is:
Is it because of FCPX or is it because a product like the Ultrastudio HD mini (which is Thunderbolt3 and SDI 3G) allows for much better response and I should buy that product in stead?
I'm happy to do so, but I need to be sure if it actually behaves faster than a mini-monitor. Anybody here to share some experiences about that? Only interested in the combo with FCPX.
Thanks a lot in advance!
