Hi There,

Im trying to get the Ultra Studio HD mini working on a 2018 MBPro running High Sierra 10.13.4
It hasn't gone well. Firstly the ,manual that came in the box was from another product.
I loaded the installer driver and when I plugged the TB3 cable in I got a warning telling me the
Connot Use Thunderbolt accessory and connect to a thunderbolt port... arrrrggghhhh. I am connected to a thunderbolt port. there are only thunderbolt ports on this machine.

So I decided to upgrade the driver (installed the older version that came with the deck) after reading something on a forum. I tried doing this and I get another warning "Please allow Black Magic Design drivers in security blah, blah in system preferences. Unfortunate however there are not any black magic products in the list of boxes to check to allow... this stuff is doing my head in.

Thanks for your reply - I will try to find the manual. That driver is the one I tried to download and wouldn't let me check to allow it in my OS security preferences.

The manual is in the same download folder as the driver.

excellent. so thanks again for your help... I managed to get the drivers loaded. so the latest is on the MBPro.
However Mac is still giving the "Cannot use Thunderbolt Accessory warning.
Connect to a Thunderbolt port on this Mac".
Hmm... Media Express can't see any device and the Ultra Studio HD mini is dead.
Any more ideas?

Thanks for that.I managed to update the drivers. However the Mac still give me the same, warning re Connot Use Thunderbolt accessory and connect to a thunderbolt port.

And neither the media express or desk top set up can detect a device.

Hmm. SO I haven't seen the Ultra Studio HD mini hasn't started up at all. Dead.

Any thoughts?

So I also just now upgraded OS to Mojave.

Ultra Studio HD mini. Still dead. Im trying to play in stuff off an old DV cam deck and also some old Video tape from a camera via this unit (using basic composite input and L/R stereo jacks).

However at the moment the Desk top video set up software won't even see the mini...

In addition Ive posted updates on this site several times and it takes an age for it to be moderated. Sorry I'm not usually this grumpy about stuff however, I really need this material loaded. Im running out of time.

Ok.. I have no mac knowlage at all.. But does that model have the proper thunderbolt port? What do you use in between for cable?
Does any light come on ?

Can you confirm that the cable is an actual Thunderbolt 3 cable (with a lightning bolt on it) and not just a USB-C cable? A USB-C cable would not allow for the device to be seen by the computer.

Just bought 3 UltraStudio HD Mini’s as addition to our capture fleet.

Stil trying to get them to work. Getting the No device detected in Desktop Video.

Running on a MBP 2017 (catalina 10.15.7)
Tried different brands of Thunderbolt 3 cable (apple, belkin an g-technology). double checked they are true TB3 cables with the lighting bolt on it.

Un-installed en re-installed desktop video.

The light on the front of Ultrastudio HD Mini is burning and can hear the fans inside turning.

Problem on all three of them...so must be something else then the hardware I guess.
Our Ultrastudio 4k is working fine and so our mini recorders...

Anybody any tips??
