feature request - custom playback / timeline FPS

PostThu Sep 13, 2012 10:46 pm

Please add a feature to allow custom playback speeds for files.

I have footage shot at 18fps, and needs to be rendered out at 24fps.

1. Add timeline setting to be custom frame rates

Also I often get music videos shoot at 6fps and 9fps for effect, but want it to play back on a 24fps timeline at regular speed (like step printing).

2. Allow clip properties to change the speed to custom frame rates (currently doesn't go below 23.98)

In timeline it no longer has the option to change frame rate of a clip > it only has speed change %. Please add feature to allow changing of either % or in FPS.(this will ensure proper sync of audio if using a sync camera at a variable frame rate).

Simply, we need the option to change the frame rate on a clip to clip basis or change the overall frame rate of the timeline.

Looking forward to seeing this implemented in the next build!

Bumping this. I also need the ability to work with 16 or 18fps. We deal with a lot of 8mm, Super8 and 16mm film, much of which was shot at 16 or 18fps. We need to be able to work with the material at these speeds within Resolve (playback at that speed), and we need to render out a 23.976 file with frames repeated so the running time remains consistent. Right now, bringing in 18fps and rendering at 24fps maps frames 1:1, so the output playback speed is too fast.

Currently we need to do this in AfterEffects as a separate step, but it would be ideal to be able to export right out of Resolve this way, saving a lot of time (and money).
