Can Decklink 4K Pro be bidirectional?

PostFri Sep 20, 2019 7:55 am

Hello
I have the Decklink 4K Pro
this is a 12G card
on launch it had two input SDI slots and two output.
Did a later firmware update add bidirectional in/out?
Blackmagic updater has updated the firmware and I am running latest desktop video but I can't seem to set in/out per port.
If this is not possible, what functionality was added to it, as I can't find the last version of the manual that included this model. I think higher frame rates were added up to DCI 4k 60p?
It would be very useful to have model specific manuals, with connection diagrams, thaat are kept up to date?!

The Decklink 4K card is not Bi-directional ports. It is just 1 in and 1 output!
With the ability to do dual link 6G or 3G,

The Decklink Quad 2 and 8K Pro are the only cards that have bi-directional ports that can be set from the software. ;)

That is what I thought
I have checked all the software updates and it seems no extra functionality has been added.
Why do you say 6G only when the card is 12G?
Did you figure out what the firware update was for?

2 ports for Dual link function.. Like Dual 6G or Dual 3G. Or Single 12G. ;)

Everytime you install a new version of Video Desktop, You also need to update the FW in the card. Otherwise the card won't run anymore with the software.
