Resolve not detecting OpenCL

PostSun Jun 24, 2018 2:10 pm

I have an older Sapphire AMD 6950 2GB GDDR5. I had recently upgraded to driver 15.301, and it has OpenCL 2.0.4.0. On launch, Resolve says it can't find an OpenCL capable card. Is there any workaround to this, or am I at the point of upgrading my entire system?

My current system:
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
AMD FX 8350 8-core 4.0GHz
Sapphire 6950 2GB GDDR5
32GB DDR3 1333mhz

I get the same error message (not detecting OpenCl), although while Windows is telling me that an OpenCL capaple driver is already installed.
So you are not alone.

I have an Intel Core i7 (M620) and are running Windows10 Pro V. 1803. Graphic device driver is version 8.15.10.2900.

Check if your cards are up to spec (OpenCL version).
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

That card supports OpenCL 1.1. You'll need something that will support OpenCL 1.2 computing.

AMD HD 6950 does support OpenCL 1.2. From the HD6000 series wikipedia page:
"Open CL 1.0 to 1.2 are supported for all Chips with Terascale 2 and 3"
