Copy and paste is pasting wrong thing

PostFri Feb 21, 2020 3:09 pm

Resolve 16.1.2.026, Windows 10

I am copying some clips from one timeline, trying to insert them in to another. All timeline properties are the same, so it's not any kind of mismatch.

When I either ctrl+c or right-click and copy the clips and then paste them in the other timeline, the clip in the left side viewer is pasted instead of the copied clips.

In my experience, copying from one timeline to another works if you just click on a clip in timeline A and simply drag it to timeline B. This of course requires a stacked timeline view which shows both timelines on one screen.

There are many, many factors that go into Resolve's idea of what to paste and where to paste it. What would be SO COOL is if one or more of these conditions applied, then the menu items and/or keyboard customization descriptions would add those special conditions to the paste description.

I'm offline right now...maybe there is a special box somewhere in the multi-thousand page manual that describes Resolves special behaviors concerning the paste operation.
