Resolve 16b3 Clip Problem.

PostFri May 24, 2019 11:07 am

Hi all,

I used Resolve 15 with no problems, but with the 16 beta (tried with b1, b2 and b3) I cannot correctly watch and import any video. The video file I try to import are shown as glitches and stuttered images.

On the same machine, Resolve 15 has no problems, but 16 has that problem.

I've got a PC with
MSI x370 Gaming Pro Carbon
AMD Ryzen 1700
32GB RAM
Sapphire Radeon RX 590
SSD Nvm2 Samsung 960 pro

Someone could help me? Thank you!

We need a Resolve log, a dxdiag.txt file and a system info .NFO file.

Details on how to generate and provide those are in this thread:

Sorry, I couldn't attacht the files directly to this post, I hope the links is fine too.

Can't wait to solve that problem...

Thank you!

P.S.. It seems there's another problem regardind the OpenFX loading. Resolve tells me "OpenFX plugins gave been disabled due to error when loading."

You don't have the current AMD driver installed. Give that a try.

Regarding the OFX plugins, what happens if you click on the OpenFX button on the Color page to re-enable them?

I installed drivers and created log Files. The clip previews are still looking glitchy.
If I move the mouse on the thumbnails the video remains black, but the audio is audible.

I enabled OpenFX in the COLOR tab, causing a crash in Resolve. It stopped responding and closed after a while. I generated the log after that (that is about 260Mb big!)

I've tried reinstalling resolve (b6 and b7)
DDU my drivers and tired 3 AMD versions (recommended and optional)

Well ... from the time my post was approved until today i managed to get it working.
I've already switched drivers several times..
Here's how i got it working.
in Preferences --> Decode Options i've unchecked everything.
After that it showed my clips correctly.
Then i've checked each item one by one followed by a program restart each time.
Now everything is "on" and everything working fine.

Also, i had problem with OFXs
OFX was disabled due a problem loading OFXs.
Ive traced it ti NEWBlue OFX plugins.
Ive fixed it removing the problematic OFX folder (c:\programfiles\common\ofxplugins\newblueblabla..), launching resolve, enable ofx, shut down resolve, restore the ofx folder back, launch resolve again, and it worked.

Its weird...it's kind of the same procedure than before... . something not working...disable it,,, launch ..let it load, shutdown..reactivate the non working component..and luckily it will be fixed.

I don't know. I'0m running Windows 10 1803.
Any solutions? I really wish to use Resolve instead of Premiere.
