The results you're looking for require you to Scale the original clip.
Actually thinking on that further it doesn't make sense. The Multicam Clip is 4k resolution. So a Nested Sequence that is 4k in Premiere Pro would allow me to scale it down if I place that Nested Clip into a HD Timeline.
I MultiCam Clip in PremierePro that is 4k can be scaled down in an HD timeline.
So it really doesn't make much sense to me that a 4k original MultiCam Clip cannot be scaled properly in an HD timeline. There is still the extra real estate in the original mutlicam / nested timeilne that's being inserted into the HD timeline.
I just went back over to Premiere Pro to confirm I can scale 4k MutliCam clips in an HD timeline and I can. It's weird that Resolve won't allow this.
