'Stop Dynamic Trim' command not assignable?

PostFri Sep 13, 2019 8:55 pm

In keyboard settings in the resolve keyboard under 'ctrl k' it states "Stop Dynamic Trim"
I want to reassign this in my keyboard settings to 'ctrl f' because I put the standard 'jkl' commands under my left hand under 'dfg'.
But this doesn't work because I can not find the command "Stop Dynamic Trim".
Is this meant to be?

Ctrl-k (or CMD-k on Mac) is not re-assignable.

Why on god's green earth not?
CMD-K is traditionally add edit (split clip) for FCP and Premiere editors. That's a pretty important tool that I use dozens of times a day. It's little things like this that make it difficult for folks to seamlessly integrate multiple NLEs in their arsenal.

Bumping this thread to say I just ran into the same problem. Trying to make Resolve more of a daily driver edit-wise and baffled by the lack of full customization here.

Maybe we'll see this added in version 17?

I'm confused about this too. When I first started using resolve I reassigned "split clip" (add edit) to Cmd+K and it worked. It was fine. I blew out my custom shortcuts a month ago and now I can't reassign Cmd+K. It's infuriating, my hands always go to cmd+K to add an edit. So weird that this used to be reassignable and now isn't. I don't even know what Stop Dynamic Trim does.

It's very weird. I used Cmd+k last year for "Split clip" command and now I'm unable to assign the shortcut? It's really weird. I don't use dynamic trimming at all so I see no point for this function to occupy a key shortcut. I would understand if it was some really basic function, but this is not the case.

Hey All!

I also would love to be able to configure this key location. I rarely ever use the "JKL" trimming, and with 5 other applications I use CMD+K to create an edit point...

It would just be nice is this was in one of the future updates.

Thanks!
