Prohibit new clip to delete anything when dragged.

Please add a button, which when is active any clip when moved on timeline can not delete any portion of existing clips. You can't place it anywhere, where it would override any other clips. Like I drag a clip to the timeline and I cannot place accidentally on any other existing clips when this function is activated.

It is very annoying that sometimes when I paste ot drag a clip it randomly deletes other clips. This would help the user to not delete anything accidentally.

I think this already ( kinda) works:

Drag the clip you want to reposition with CTRL+SHIFT while making sure that snapping (N ) is enabled.

No dispute with the request, Norbert, but lets be clear, if you overwrite a clip (or clips) by pasting or dragging some other clip (or clips) on top, that's not 'random'. Pretty sure Tekkerue, another ex-Vegas user, has been campaigning for Vegas inspired layered video editing for a while now. You might want to give his request a quick +1.

I don't believe this is a good idea as asked. I think more care from the editor, and using the currently available Lock Track feature, is the proper solution here.

You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
