UI Overhaul

PostSat Feb 24, 2024 12:52 am

I want to be able to dock out windows and put them into a new window so you can alt tab to say, your media pool, or your inspector, and have your video full screen, being able to tab between would make it easier to work on the go (with a laptop) and not require you to always be at a desktop to edit.

And an ability to use multiscreen without having multiple screens, so you can tab between your video and your timeline, having the timeline on one 'screen' -- the reason for this is I use an app to turn my tablet into a "second screen" and i can watch my video on the tablet while editing on my laptop in full screen mode. Right now, it doesn't support this because it doesn't count as a "new window"

I like the current UI.

I vote no.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Would be VERY useful - I would only vote "no" if the feature would cause a significant problem, and "yes" if it would be a major improvement to my workflow.

Good for you. I want the option to have dockable windows.

Are there any video editing software options that support window docking, tabbing, and using a tablet as a second screen for enhanced on-the-go editing?

No idea, but it would be pretty cool to allow it to have multiple windows - which would make it work with my tablet like that all it needs to do is be alt-tabable
