Multicam editing - using Keyboard keypad or Speed Editor

PostSun Mar 06, 2022 4:39 pm

Request for a remapping, somehow, to allow the onscreen Multiview to match the keypad on the keyboard and/or the keypad on the Speed Editor.

At the moment if there are say 8 videos on the Davinci Multicam view (as there were in the Davinci Multicam tutorial online), they are listed in a telephone keypad order (ie from top to bottom: 123, then 456, then 789), but the keyboard keypad is upside down (ie 789, then 456, then 123). This makes it very confusing as the keypad does not directly correspond to the multicam view on the screen. For instance, if I want to cut to the top left video (camera 1), I have to click on the bottom left key on the keyboard (number 1). The middle top video on the multicam requires the bottom middle key on the keypad. It's not intuitive and creates lots of mistakes. The same issue obviously occurs with the Speed Editor.

A solution to match up the keypad to the multiview screen so that they correspond, (eg like a map without having to do the mental gymanstics of turning it upside down and looking through the back), would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I have requested this endlessly. so much so that I've just given up and bought a separate numberpad. I do a lot of Multicam work and while I miss the shuttle dial having a tool that I can use with my lefthand next to my laptop that is portable and matches the camera order was more useful. Kinda sucks because the speed editor would otherwise be a decent tool for someone like me.

I also requested it. I am not sure why it's set up like a keyboard number pad on the Speed Editor but is backwards on the screen.

bumping this in the hopes that we can get a way to have the window in resolve match our keys?
