Support Adobe RGB input color space (for stills)

PostTue Apr 19, 2022 7:08 pm

In current Resolve 17 the Adobe RGB (wide gamut) color space is not supported.
Many stills are created by DSCs using that color space. Supporting it wouldn't be that hard, I guess.

Also bump.

I process timelapse images to export in Adobe RGB for the expanded color space but cannot figure out how to use this color space in Resolve. My image sequences have color that is incorrect.

Since the conversion coefficients are public, supporting this should be straightforward. However, due to trademark restrictions, it likely cannot be called Adobe RGB.

The development of Adobe RGB was full of "mistakes", it was intended to be like SMPTE 240M, it turned out to be something different.

Code: Select all
Since the conversion coefficients are public

I think that it is possible to fish the net for a DCTL that can convert that in a different format like ACES....
