Fusion FX on Edit Page: Use native resolution

PostMon May 27, 2024 7:56 am

In the Fusion page a clip is used in its native resolution. However when applying a Fusion effect eg. on a 4K clip in a 1080p timeline, the clip is being processed in the timeline resolution.

Feature request: use native resolution of a clip when applying a Fusion effect in the edit page.

This would be nice! Though I have my doubts it would ever be implemented because it seems like all effects and transitions are handled at timeline resolution and in "viewer-space" as opposed to "clip-space". All transforms and scaling are done before any effects, so if a clip is scaled down and rotated 30 degrees, the effects won't scale and rotate with it, and are instead applied to the whole frame.

I think a great solution to this would be to allow us to change the processing order of Fusion effects, OFX, and Transform / Inspector properties like we can with processing order on a Fairlight track.
