Flatten Timeline should respect Locked Tracks

PostFri Nov 01, 2024 6:10 pm

I tried using the Flatten Timeline feature and every time I did it, it would flatten my Titles Track on to the other clips. I tried locking the tracks I didn't want affected and it simply does not adhere to them at all.

Are you talking about Multicam, or Unused Clips here?

Looks like there is a bug here. Or at least a major functional limitation.

"Normal" Resolve titles will not remove clips below, but the fusion titles I tried certainly do.

And I am using Fusion Titles as well. I haven't tried the normal titles.

Yep... I tried it once, discovered it couldn't be trusted and have never touched it again.

+1 for having it respect locked tracks.

+1, flatten should not act on locked tracks

Agree, but.... the feature would still be nearly useless as you would have to "lock track" manage anything that doesn't completely block out the clips below. i.e. anything with alpha - fusion titles, overlay graphics, fx, etc.

What does this mean?

On a project I am working on, I have my titles on a one particular track at the top of the timeline. In this case V5. What is happening is the track's titles are not staying on this track, even though it is locked. In this instance, the titles are made from Fusion.

That's interesting. In my case, the track was at the top which was locked and was made of titles based in Fusion.
